Ted film

Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, and others are trying to censor a Netflix film they haven't seen ... snuff that promotes the exact agenda the director was deliberately rejecting— which people who actually ... The funniest movie character so far this year is a stuffed teddy bear. And the best comedy screenplay so far is 'Ted,' the saga of the bear's friendship with a 35-year-old manchild. I know; this also was hard for me to believe. After memories of Mel Gibson's bond with a sock puppet, 'Ted' was not high on the list of movies I was impatient to see. Directed by Seth MacFarlane. With Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Joel McHale. John Bennett, a man whose childhood wish of bringing his teddy bear to life came true, now must decide between keeping the relationship with the bear or his girlfriend, Lori. The duo originated the roles of the pair of aspiring rock stars in the 1989 film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, reprising their roles for the 1991 sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. They have finally returned to the roles almost three decades later in Bill & Ted Face The Music, in which the hapless pair, who are now middle-aged fathers ... Ted is not exactly my type of film. It's an American Comedy, which is a strike. It's feelgood, which is a strike. It's main role is played by Mark Wahlberg, which is a strike. Ted is a 2012 comedy film directed, co-written and co-produced by Seth MacFarlane and stars himself (well, his voice), Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, and is MacFarlane's directorial debut. It focuses on John Bennett, a little boy who receives a teddy bear as a gift and wishes for him to come to life. As luck would have it, his wish is granted on a falling star, and the bear, aptly named Ted ... A collection of TED Talks (and more) on the topic of Film. Video playlists about Film. Mysterious Vanishing of MH370 connected to Black Sun of Saturn mega-ritual, synonymous to 9/11 2001 and various related mysteries.

MH370 mural in Manilla, Philippines. Notice the vesica piscis shape of the portal; a reference to a gateway that the plane is passing through.
MH370 mural in Malaysia.
On this bizarre mural found in Kuala Lumpur, we see the Black Sun of Saturn connected to the vanishing of MH370. The gathering clouds with lightning and thunder (Storm King/God motif) connect to this BLACK SUN of Saturn = Black Hole that the plane is heading up towards. Notice the yellow rays coming out from the Black Hole, which emphasizes the Black Sun of Saturn. The phrase \"how chill - come in!\" is connected to the Gate of Saturn.
Eye of God(Saturn) in the Masonic Grand Temple in London. Notice the pupil of the eye is the Black Sun Disc of Saturn, with the typical 8-rayed Saturn Sun Wheel coming out from it. Notice that this Black Sun with rays is exactly what is depicted as the destination of MH370 on the mural in the previous image.
This mural was made for the killing of Anastasio Hernandez Rojas. Notice the Eclipse/Black Sun of Saturn motif behind the victims head.
I don't want to get down another rabbit hole, but the George Floyd mural in Minneapolis has the same Eclipse/Black Sun of Saturn motif behind the victim's head as well.
Scene from Bill and Ted: Face the Music showing the Eclipse/Black Sun of Saturn motif. A sign below it on the freeway says, \"END IS NEAR\".
Scene from Mission Impossible III showing the Malaysia Airlines logo in reverse revealing the 666.
Another scene framing the Malaysia Airlines logo trident on right side.
How strange that two completely unrelated movies show the same skyline in frame with the reversed Malaysia Airlines logo showing 666. Notice that even the flames are positioned in the same places. These two movies were released roughly 3 years apart.
9/11 museum's Twin Tridents at the entrance.

The film \"Man of Steel\" during a scene showing a command center showed real coordinates - that reveal a sinister mystery connecting directly to Flight MH370.

During the scene where Zod's trident ship is levitating material from the street below, a bus flies up in the cameras face with \"370\" emblazoned on the side - and \"MIA\" for missing in action.
The numbers 911 and 777 and incredible and connect to even deeper mysteries unrelated to the Vanishing of Flight MH370.
In my next post, I will reveal the mystery of the Saturnian RED + BLUE secret that was present on the Malaysia Airlines logo, and on all the planes that collided with the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 2001.
The mystery finds its origin far back in Solomon's Temple, as the colors of the Veil that concealed the Cube where God's Ark was contained.

2020.09.22 04:18 SteveMcQueen36 Playing through the WWF - Part 3 (1988 to 1989 SummerSlam - Wrestlemania V)

I am using games like WWE2k19, 2k20, and Fire Pro Wrestling World to simulate and play through the WWF's PPV's and other events. The outcomes will be different thus forcing me to change story lines. Let me know what you think. This issue covers SummerSlam '88 to Wrestlemania V. When the Mega Powers EXPLODE!!!

WWF SummerSlam - August 29th, 1988 - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden

1 The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques Rougeau and Raymond Rougeau) def. The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid) Tag team match 92% 18:32 The Rougeaus looked amazing in this match. The crowd hates them but they seem to be fueled by that hate. They fly around the ring with so much skill. The Bulldogs looked... off. It's clear that Davey Boy Smith needs to take some time off for a few months. Jacques won after a Moonsault.
2 Curt Hennig def. Bad News Brown Singles match 88% 15:57 Curt Hennig is a newcomer to the WWF and he is taking on Ted DiBiase's body-guard, Bad News Brown. Bad News plans to make mincemeat out of Hennig. But it's mostly in Curt's favor. Curt Hennig wins after a Fisherman Suplex.
3 Rick Rude (w/Bobby Heenan) def. Brutus Beefcake Singles match 76% 15:44 The match started off with a pose-off with Rude clearly out-flexing Beefcake. Then the match started when Beefer started getting more cheers and Rude clotheslined him to the outside. These two traded blows and moves before Beefcake was opened up outta nowhere. Rude won with the Rude Awakening.
4 The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and The Warlord) def. The Bolsheviks (Boris Zhukov and Nikolai Volkoff) (w/Slick) Tag team match 70% 17:52 The newest dominating tag team in the division is The Powers of Pain. The Warlord and The Barbarian hit hard and don't stop until they get blood. That's what happened in this match. Barbarian was literally biting Nikolai on the forehead. Demolition is on notice. The Warlord won with a Power Slam on Boris Zhukov.
5 The Ultimate Warrior (c) def. Honky Tonk Man (w/Jimmy Hart) WWF Intercontinental Title 79% 18:10 The Honky Tonk Man is great at irritating the Intercontinental Champion. Warrior had been wanting to slap Honky down for weeks! This match was clothesline after clothesline. Honky didn't stand a chance. He was done after a Gorilla Press Slam. The Ultimate Warrior wins after a Gorilla Press Slam.
6 Bam Bam Bigelow & Big Bossman (w/Slick) def. Jake Roberts & Ricky Steamboat Tag Team Match 98% 29:18 Wow! What a tag team match. These guys gave it their all but Slick's team had too much power. For everything Roberts and Steamboat had, Slick's team was ready to knock them down. Bossman pinned Steamboat after a Bossman Slam in the middle of the ring.
7 Demolition (Ax and Smash) (c) (w/Mr. Fuji and Jimmy Hart) def. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) WWF Tag Team Titles 60% 27:52 A surprisingly dry and boring match from two teams I would have expected more from. It was a back and forth until Demolition really started laying it in thick. Bret Hart was pinned following a Tombstone from Smash.
8 Leilani Kai (w/Judy Martin) def. Wendi Richter (c) (w/Rockin' Robin) WWF Women's Title 72% 13:07 Leilani Kai and Judy Martin have been beating up on Richter for weeks. It started on SNME when they double-teamed Richter after her win over Sensational Sherri. Then it started happening every time she was interviewed. Richter didn't even wait until the ring bell was rung. It was a good match that Richter had in the bag. She was a woman unleashed. Beating Kai all over the ring. That was until a chair from Judy Martin, from the outside of the ring, cost Richter the match. Leilani Kai won with a Backslide.
Main Event The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage) (w/Miss Elizabeth) def. King Kong Bundy and Ted DiBiase (w/Bad News Brown) Tag Team Match 77% 16:34 Hogan and Savage joined forces when it was Randy Savage who saved Hogan from a DiBiase beat down. The two shook hands and it was magic from there. Bundy and Hogan were a treat for the crowd. Hogan wins after the Big Leg Drop on King Kong Bundy. After the match Miss Elizabeth is kidnapped by DiBiase. Savage makes chase.... Hogan poses.
81% 173:06
Total Time: 2:53:06
This was the first Summer Slam and it was a pretty popular one. The Mega Powers were everywhere doing promotions all over the country. Hogan didn't want to be in a big feud since he was filming a movie at the moment. The Ultimate Warrior is getting an enormous pop and he might be poised to be the next in line for the world title. Wendi Richter want's revenge but she needs some time off after the beating she took at the hands of the Glamour Girls.

1 The Honky Tonk Man, Bad News Brown, Rick Martel and Greg Valentine (w/Jimmy Hart) def. The Blue Blazer, The Ultimate Warrior, and The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) 4-on-4 Survivor Series Match 100% 49:39 The Hart boys looked great but Honky was using chairs and taking everyone into the ringside area. The Ultimate Warrior held his own, but was ultimately beat down before being eliminated first! Blazer went next. The Hart Foundation then eliminated Martel and Bad News Brown, but fell to Rhythm & Blues. Rhythm & Blues were the survivors in this match.
2 The Rockers (Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels) and The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid) def. Demolition (Ax and Smash) and The Bolsheviks (Boris Zhukov and Nikolai Volkoff) 4-on-4 Survivor Series Match 83% 30:39 This match was a knock-down drag-out battle. It was great. All of the teams looked fantastic and worked really well together. The Rockers took out the Bolsheviks, but got smacked by Demolition. It looked bad until Davey Boy Smith eliminated both Ax and Smash on his own. Great show. Davey Boy Smith and Shawn Michaels are the Survivors.
3 Akeem, Bam Bam Bigelow, Big Bossman, and Butch Reed def. Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Curt Hennig, and Don Muraco 4-on-4 Survivor Series Match 86% 41:53 Akeem was eliminated by Don Muraco. Who was teamed up on and beaten down before being eliminated by Bossman. Bossman then went on to deliver two Bossman Slams to Ricky Steamboat eliminating him. Butch Reed overpowers a weakened Jake Roberts to eliminate him. Mr. Perfect was last to fall. There is just too much power on that side of the ring. The survivors are Slick's Squad; Butch Reed, Bossman, and Bigelow.
4 The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin & Leilani Kai) (c) def. Wendi Richter & Rockin' Robin Tag Team Match 82% 12:02 Wendi Richter and LeiLani Kai had a feud to settle and it was settled here. Richter was working much slower in this match. She refuses to take time off. But when Rockin' Robin got in the match really picked up. Robin hit Judy Martin with a really tough running cross-body. But it was Leilani Kai that was the deciding factor. Leilani Kai wins with a Pinning German Suplex to Wendi Richter.
Main Event Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Brutus Beefcake, and Roddy Piper def. Ted DiBiase, Rick Rude, King Kong Bundy, and Hercules 4-on-4 Survivor Series Match 93% 58:42 This was an awesome match if your a fan of Hulkamania. It started out with Hercules being eliminated by Beefcake. Then Beefcake by Bundy. Then Bundy by Hogan. Then Rude by Hogan. Savage by DiBiase. Then DiBiase by Hogan with the Leg Drop. The Survivors are Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper who both eliminate Hercules last.

The Survivor Series is proving to be one of the best PPV's in the company's history. Always consistently good matches. This year we got the Mega Union with not only Randy Savage, but also Roddy Piper and Brutus Beefcake. Hogan really has some great friends. But DiBiase proved to have deep pockets as these guys took a beating for the Million Dollar Man. And it looks like Wendi Richter will be taking some time away from the WWF.

1D Jim Powers def. Barry Horowitz Singles match 99% 19:45 Jim Powers and Barry Horowitz are enhancement talent that knows how to put on a good match. They didn't tell any one they were going to take advantage of the twenty minute time limit. This is one of the greatest Dark Matches of all time. So much emotion and anger. Jim Powers won with an Electric Chair Slam.
2 Tim Horner def. Sam Houston Singles match 92% 19:24 Tim Horner and Sam Houston are both big names in Texas and this match really got some great cheers. The crowd was still coming into the building, but they got a great show. Horner was dominating for most of the match. Really working over Houston's midsection. Then Horner put Houston away with a Flying Body Press.
3 Best 2-of-3 Falls: The Blue Blazer and The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) def. Dino Bravo and The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques Rougeau and Raymond Rougeau) (w/Jimmy Hart) Tag Team Match 78% 32:32 The Blue Blazer has been working with the Hart Foundation in a lot of Six-Man tag matches against Slick's Squad in the months leading up to the Royal Rumble. During those matches, The Rougeau Brothers would poke fun during promos against The Hart Foundation. This led up to Bret Hart challenging Jacques to a 1-on-1 match on SNME. But Hart lost after being distracted by Dino Bravo beating up The Blue Blazer at ringside. Now both teams are going to settle their differences in a 2-of-3 Falls Six-Man Tag Match. The match was wonderful. Bret Hart was on point. Blue Blazer was lightning quick. It was a sight to see. Bret won both falls on the Rougeaus with the Sharpshooter on Raymond and Dino Bravo.
4 Leilani Kai (c) (w/Judy Martin) def. Rockin' Robin WWF Women's Title 70.% 13:15 The Glamour Girls are holding all of the gold in the Women's Division. After defeating the Jumping Bomb Angels on SNME for the Women's Tag Titles, Leilani Kai went on to defeat long-time champion, Wendi Richter at Summer Slam. With the help of her partner, Judy Martin. Martin has been integral in helping Leilani Kai keep the Women's Title around her waist. But tonight, Judy Martin is banned from ringside. Can Leilani Kai beat Wendi Richter's best friend? Yes. Leilani Kai and Robin had a great back and forth match with Kai eating a lot of offense from Rockin' Robin. But Leilani Kai is a veteran that knows the ring better than her opponent. It was easy for Kai to pick up the victory after two running power bombs.
5 Harley Race (w/The Wizard) def. Haku (w/Bobby Heenan) King of the Ring Final 80% 18:16 The King of the Ring was a tournament that had taken place across various events leading up to the Royal Rumble. Haku vs. The Blue Blazer on Prime Time Wrestling and Hercules on Saturday Night's Main Event. And Harley Race vs. Koko B. Ware and Butch Reed on Superstars and Wrestling Challenge. Tonight they meetup in the final. A hardened veteran setting out on a new journey in his career. Or the young up-and-coming superstar of the tag division. Haku came out fierce. He attacked Race's forehead and tried to bust him open. But Harley Race beat Haku back. It turned into a bloodbath on the outside. Harley Race wins this hard-fought battle with a bloody Piledriver.
Main Event Bam Bam Bigelow wins the 30 Man Royal Rumble Match Royal Rumble Match 81% 58:53 The final eight are Akeem, Bossman, Bigelow, Piper, Martel, Studd, Savage, and DiBiase. It came down to the newly turned face, Bam Bam Bigelow vs. his former partners, Bossman and Akeem. And the Million Dollar Man. Million Dollar Man threw out Akeem while Bam Bam threw out Bossman. Then Million Dollar Man tried paying off Bam Bam. Bigelow threw Ted DiBiase out last to win the Rumble.
83% 159:05

The Royal Rumble was exciting! Bam Bam Bigelow came out on top of the Royal Rumble vowing to put the WWF heels on notice. Harley Race and Haku had an obviously bloody match. All of that while Hulk Hogan was absent filming a movie.

1 Hercules def. King Harley Race (w/Bobby Heenan) Singles match 70% 11:51 Harley Race had won the inaugural King of the Ring tournament in a finals match against Haku at the Royal Rumble. After that show, Bobby Heenan dropped Haku and picked up King Race to be in his crew. However, Race hadn't foreseen that Heenan's former talent, Hercules, had turned face and would be looking to stop The Heenan Family in anyway possible. At WrestleMania V these two clashed in a 1-on-1 bout that saw Harley Race taken to the limit. Hercules defeated Race after a Football Tackle.
2 The Twin Towers (Akeem and Big Boss Man) & Butch Reed (w/Slick) def. The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty) & Bam Bam Bigelow Six-Man Tag Match 84% 26:01 Slick's Squad has been a thorn in the side of the WWF baby faces for months now. But tonight Bam Bam Bigelow and The Rockers are going to try and shut Slick up. Bam Bam took the fight to Big Bossman, these two kept just punching each other in the face. It was great. The Rockers got some double offense in, but Akeem and Bossman are too much for the young team. Not to mention Butch Reed dominating them. Akeem won the match for the heels after a Series of Short-Arm Clotheslines. This is Butch Reed's last match in the WWF.
3 Ted DiBiase (w/Bad News Brown) def. Jake Roberts Singles match 100% 25:51 Ted DiBiase left Bobby Heenan just before the new year and purchased the assistance of Bad News Brown, as his personal bodyguard. He has been feuding with Jake Roberts for most of that time. DiBiase tried to pay to get Roberts fired from the WWF. But Jack Tunney wouldn't be swayed. So Roberts put his snake, lol, on DiBiase. This pissed off DiBiase leading to this match. Which was phenomenal. A 5 STAR Banger for sure. These two duked it out for over twenty minutes before moves even came into play. DiBiase had he upper hand for most of the match and he kept it. Roberts passed out in the Million Dollar Dream.
4 The Islanders (Haku and Tama) def. The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques Rougeau and Raymond Rougeau) Tag team match 80% 24:51 Haku and Tama are one of the most dangerous tag-teams in the WWF and after some injury leave for Tama. The team is back together. At least they aren't some weird face licking team from Australia that wags their arms up and down. I hate that team. The Islanders though are awesome. Haku wins the match for them with a big Tongan Kick square on Raymond's chin.
5 "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig def. The Blue Blazer Singles match 80% 12:24 The Blue Blazer has been wowing the crowds with his dexterous style. Curt Hennig has been also wowing the crowds with his impressive technical nature. In this exhibition of talent, Blue Blazer and Hennig put all they had on display. It was a fantastic bout that incorporated British, Lucha, and classic Catch-as-Catch-can styles. While Curt Hennig won the match with the Perfect Plex, the match still elevated both superstars.
6 Demolition (Ax and Smash) (c) def. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and The Warlord) WWF Tag Team Titles 92% 26:14 Demolition had recently turned face, leaving Mr. Fuji to be beaten-up by The British Bulldogs on Superstars. The crowd loved them and their new badass style. Mr. Fuji, still hated by the fans, picked up a new team, The Powers of Pain. A wreckless, destructive, and powerful tag team that has been running rough-shot in the tag division. Now they are challenging Demolition for the WWF World Tag Team Titles. The match was a brawl. Demolition and The Powers of Pain beat the shit out of each other. There was even a spot with the referee being sandwiched in between Smash and The Warlord. Knocking down the referee and busting him open. Ax won the match after a Shoulder Buster on The Barbarian. The champs celebrated in the ring and rode motorcycles out of the ringside area. Yeah!
7 Leilani Kai (c) (w/Judy Martin) def. Velvet McIntyre WWF Women's Title 83% 14:12 The Glamour Girls are tremendous heels. Cutting promos on various tag-teams and finding new ways to cheat. They have really excelled after leaving manager, Jimmy Hart. The WWF have even sent this dastardly duo to Japan to represent the WWF Women's Tag Team Titles across the world. Velvet McIntyre has been the main face since Wendi Richters departure earlier in the year. Velvet vowed to get the Women's Title around her waist tonight. And while Leilani Kai and McIntyre had a great match. Velvet couldn't get the job done and submitted in a Boston Crab. Putting the WWF Women's Title out of reach. Kai and Martin hugged in the ring and the crowd showered them with garbage.
8 Strike Force (Rick Martel and Tito Santana) def. The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) (w/Bobby Heenan) Tag team match 90% 27:54 Bobby Heenan debuted the Brain Busters on SNME in October of '88. They instantly made an example of Sam Houston & Tim Horner and then systematically destroyed every jobber team. Now Arn and Tully will show the world their talents and their intentions for the WWF Tag Team Titles. Demolition will be on notice. But Strike Force is being pushed hard right now to try and get Santana and Martel over. The match was great. Everyone looked good. The Brain Busters looked amazing. But it just wasn't in the cards. Tito Santana pinned Arn Anderson, you read that right, after the Flying Cross-Chop. Strike Force... uggh.
9 The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) def. Rhythm and Blues (Greg Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man with Jimmy Hart) Tag team match 71% 17:13 The Hart Foundation have been feuding with Rhythm & Blues for the better part of the year. Bret and Honky have a deep seeded hatred for each other. Unfortunately, that emotion didn't come out in the match. It was a good match with a lot of things that worked out well. But it actually ended up being the worst of the nights tag matches. Bret Hart won with a Piledriver on Honky Tonk.
10 The Ultimate Warrior (c) def. Rick Rude WWF Intercontinental Title 89% 17:32 The Ultimate Warrior has been on a tear since arriving in the WWF. Winning the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania IV and now holding it for over a year. Warrior has been locked in a feud with Rick Rude who has lost in various pose-offs and matches. These two went at it trading blows. Trading clotheslines. Trading Dropkicks. It seemed like Rude would beat Warrior when he choked him with a camera cord. But no. Warrior defeated Rude with a Big Splash.
12 "Hot Rod" Roddy Piper def. Bobby Heenan (w/The Brooklyn Brawler) Singles match 82% 7:23 Bobby Heenan has been angling to get the WWF World Title into the Heenan Family ever since Andre retired. So, Heenan tried to lure in Roddy Piper with a promise of money and a match with Hulk Hogan. But Piper refused to turn on Hogan and vowed to shut the Weasle up for good. And he did, putting Bobby Heenan down on the mat with a Sleeper.
Main Event Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) def. Hulk Hogan (c) WWF World Heavyweight Title 87% 16:27 The Mega-Powers EXPLODE! Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan have been two of the most dominant champions in WWF history. Savage is in the height of his popularity and has just come off of a record breaking Intercontinental Title run of 771 days. Hulk Hogan held the WWF Title for an uncanny 1093 days before losing to Andre the Giant. However, now in the middle of his second run, Hogan is facing his greatest threat. His best friend. His compadre. His brother, man, whatcha' gonna do? Savage is mad that Hogan made "advances" toward Elizabeth. And he believes that Hogan is too arrogant. The crowd can't wait, this is one of the biggest matches of all time! - Hogan hit the big boot on Savage - Savage hit a huge dropkick on Hogan sending him toppling to the outside - Hogan hit a Leg Drop but Macho was near the ropes and reached them. "Macho Man" Randy Savage defeats Hulk Hogan with the Flying Elbow Drop to win the WWF World Heavyweight Title. Hogan and Savage embrace after the match and Hogan holds Savage on his shoulders.
84% 227:53
Total Time: 3:47:53
Hogan and Savage were deep in a feud when this match took place and the crowd was glad to see them posing in the ring together. Now Hogan is leaving the WWF for a bit to work on some other projects. The Ultimate Warrior is a promising Intercontinental Champion and showed off in a great match with Rick Rude. The future of the WWF looks promising with Macho Man at the helm.

1 Hulk Hogan 3/31/1984 WWF on MSG Network New York City, NY 1 1093 Hogan is the first WWF champion according to this title history. He won the WWF title in a single night tournament at MSG from The Iron Sheik. Hogan did well promoting the title and defended it quite a bit. However, it was a double-cross from his friend Andre the Giant that dethroned this king.
2 Andre the Giant 3/29/1987 Wrestlemania III Pontiac, MI 1 368 Andre the Giant had been best friends with Hulk Hogan for years before turning on him and joining Bobby Heenan. This partnership would be lucrative since Andre would beat Hogan for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania III. Thus striking a blow to Hulkamania and weakening the iconic one. Andre would also defend the title quite a bit. He was undefeated until Wrestlemania IV.
3 Hulk Hogan 3/27/1988 Wrestlemania IV Atlantic City, NJ 2 369 Hulk Hogan regained his title from Andre the Giant in front of over 100,000 people in Atlantic City, New Jersey! It was a decent match that also served as Andre's retirement match.

Meltzer would report that Hogan is going on to make some movies in Hollywood before returning to the WWF. Savage is a great face and will be an amazing champion.

1 The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo) 3/31/1984 WWF on MSG Network New York City, NY 1 586 The U.S. Express was a great tag team that started the game as Tag Champs. They would lose them to the British Bulldogs at the Wrestling Classic.
2 The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) 11/7/1985 The Wrestling Classic Rosemont, IL 1 871 The British Bulldogs vs. The U.S. Express in a fantastic bout. Dynamite and Rotundo were meant to do battle. They have defended against Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff, The American Express, The Hart Foundation, The Islanders, and many more during their impressive multi-year run.
3 Demolition (Ax & Smash) 3/27/1988 Wrestlemania IV Atlantic City, NJ 1 While the British Bulldogs were the most popular team in the WWF. No team were turning heads faster than the big, angry, Demolition. Ax and Smash along with their manager, Mr. Fuji, have been running rough-shot over the WWF. They had their eyes set on gold. The Bulldogs are good, but they couldn't best the beasts.

2 Lelani Kai 8/29/1988 SummerSlam '88 New York, NY 1 In 1988 Leilani Kai and Judy Martin changed the face of women's wrestling by taking their tag team out on the world and inspiring many young women wrestlers. Leilani Kai would put the crowning achievement of the Glamour Girls by winning the Women's Title from Wendi Richter at Summer Slam '88.

1 The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin & Leilani Kai) 3/16/1985 WWF on PRISM Philadelphia, PA 1 1,044 Judy Martin and Leilani Kai are one of the greatest teams in Women's Professional Wrestling. Their work around the world is tremendous.
2 The Jumping Bomb Angels (Noriyo Tateno & Itsuki Yamazaki) 1/24/1988 Royal Rumble Hamilton, ON - CAN 1 The Jumping Bomb Angels (Noriyo Tateno & Itsuki Yamazaki) were one of the coolest teams the WWF ever let slip though their fingers. Much like the duo of Io Shrai and Kairi Sane.

2020.09.21 20:11 pacopleasant Hollywood Harmeyer

Usually the staff getting "perks" by being on the show doesn't bother me - I'm cool with those guys using the show to get laid, go to exclusive free concerts, and having access to other cool shit. I get it, comes with the territory.
But Mushmouth having a pitch meeting with Ted Sarandos at Netflix is infuriating. There's not even a minimal novelty aspect (like Benjy on the soap opera or ETM getting parts* on TV shows) - at least in those cases, the shows' producers get a little promotional juice out of it when Howard and the gang are goofing on their performances. In this case, JD's "idea" will never be picked up and produced, so there's nothing to promote.
Why? Because JD has no discernible talent, including his job skills (anyone can collate video and audio clips). He can't form proper sentences or communicate like a rational adult, he's never displayed a sense of humor (hooting at Ronnie isn't a sense of humor), he's never exhibited any creativity or contributed ideas, he has no motivation or ambition, and he sure as hell knows 0.0 about directing. In the 15 or so years he's been with the show, he's never directed anything of note - I don't even remember his pointless amateur contribution to the film contest, and one time he followed Artie around with a cell phone. That's the entirety of his directing "career." (Oh, and he got that Make A Wish experience on It's Always Sunny. Yeah, sure, he "directed" that episode.)
If I sound bitter and jealous, it's because I'm bitter and jealous. I've put together pitch packages and artwork and written scripts and created teaser videos - but it's almost impossible to even get an agent to talk to you, let alone walk into a room with Ted Sarandos. Now, you guys can say the reason for that is my content sucks, and for all I know, maybe it does. I guess we'll never know for sure - I can't pitch it because no-talent morons like JD Harmeyer are being feted into Hollywood and sucking up all the oxygen.
At least my content is coherent and - oh yeah, IT'S ACTUALLY BEEN CREATED. Hollywood Harmeyer hasn't even written a one-paragraph synopsis of his shitty non-ideas.
Fuck, that's aggravating.
*ETM's acting career: "bit" parts? "small" parts? "walk-on" parts? Bam.

2020.09.21 04:43 redspider74 A GREAT story from author Samuel (Chip) Delany (Copied from his Facebook page)

A GREAT story from author Samuel (Chip) Delany (Copied from his Facebook page)
"One of the delightful accidents in my life happened in December 1973 when I flew to Heathrow to rejoin Marilyn, who had phoned me in New York and invited me to come over to London with the express purpose of having a baby. It didn't start well. Marilyn's business partner, John Sims, was perhaps the most socially awkward person I met in that city. Marilyn and John took me out to dinner, on the first night: Frankly I had a miserable time, and it wasn't the food. When we went home (to 21 Paddington St., across from and beside the two halves of Paddington Park, which, like Tomkins Square in New York, had once been a graveyard, though some of the markers were still visible among the grasses), probably we had an argument, and I went to bed wondering if this wasn't a mistake. I thought about going home and the only reason I didn't was that I couldn't afford it. Marilyn did, however, have some wonderful friends--Howard, Liz, and Judith Landry, a bookseller and his two wives (and four children), as well as Diana Senior, and her husband and partner, John Heathcote-Williams--and a book-runner in the KIng's Road Market where she and John had their rare-book business named Cyclops (he only had one eye and it had been his nickname since he was a kid and he was enough of a natural extrovert to enjoy it; in that city of very pale men and women he looked to be about my racial make-up, and he'd been raised in an orphanage), whom we eventually had for dinner and who couldn't have been more pleasant. As well we reconnected with an old friend from New York and Marilyn's days at NYU, now an art dealer, Victor Arwas. (He'd loaned Marilyn the money to start her business. And she'd paid him back.) These were all folks who came to dinner, along with Ann Lauterback, John and Marjorie Brunner, Ted Berrigan and Alice Notley, and Michael and Hilary Moorcock . . . I'd also brought Marilyn a present: some information I'd picked up from a poet I'd met at St. Marks back in Europe, Lewis White [?], the first poet I'd ever met who'd had poems I'd read in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘠𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳. How did you do it, I'd asked him. (He's the model for the poet Frank in 𝘋𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘯.) You have to submit, he said. But you have to submit a lot. Get yourself a package of index cards, a package of envelopes, and a card file. Make a list of all the places that publish poems, draft a 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 short cover letter that states the names of the poems you're sending it. (Do 𝘯𝘰𝘵 tell them everywhere you've published before, he said.) Address and stamp half the envelopes to yourself. Then put three poems, the SASE envelope, and the (brief, brief, brief[!] cover letter) into five, six, or seven envelopes and start them going around. When they come back, he said, don't even read the rejection slips. Take them out of one envelope and put them in another, and send them out immediately. (If you can, he said, do it as soon as you wake up--and then have your breakfast. Mail them as soon as you leave for work.) Marilyn started following it, and by the end of the year she'd had poems published in every place in England you could have them appear, from 𝘈𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘵 to the TLS (𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵). I also gave myself a present: In the narrow four-story house in which we lived (in 21 Paddington St., beside Paddington Park), there was an Indian Restaurant on the ground floor, an African business office on the second floor, we lived on the third, and someone moved into the top floor shortly after we got there. Whoever it was brought a piano, and began to during the day. It was really beautiful music--and a couple of times I went upstairs and simply sat outside the door and listened. The second or third time I did so, I waited till player was almost finishing a piece. Then I stood up and knocked. The player came to the door and answered. "Excuse me," I told him. "I'm your downstairs neighbor. I just wanted to say, you play beautifully." "You really 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 it . . .?" he said. "Yes, I really do. My name's Chip Delany and I live with my wife downstairs." "My name's Tim Curry," he said. "I'm an actor, actually. But I also compose . . ." Within the week Tim came down to dinner. A couple of weeks later, Marilyn and I went to see Tim in a show Upstairs at the Royal Court, where he had a very small part doing a black-out parody of Enoch Powell in a very forgettable part. A few months after that, I saw him on the stairs and asked him how things were coming. Yes, he had another part--this was in a play at the Kings Road Theater, just across the street, it turned out, from the sprawl of the Kings Road Market. Tim suggested we come to the second or third performance so that the show, which had rehearsed somewhere else, could settle into the space. I believe he even gave us the tickets. Marilyn and I went into the small auditorium that evening under the impression that his part was going to be comparable to the three- or four-minute cameo Tim had done in the first play in which we'd seen him. We noticed, as soon as we went into the theater, that a raised ramp had been built down the center from the back of the auditorium to the stage. Finally the lights went down and some characters named Janet and Brad come out on the stage and began to explain and sing their way through a wedding and a car ride to a lonely castle, most of which was in the mind. Soon they stepped onto the head of the ramp and in the rain knocked on the door of an imaginary castle and-- --a spotlight lanced to the back of the theater! And there was the mad, androgynous Dr. Frank N. Further, who sashayed forward to the stage, singing what was then the entrance number, "I'm a sweet transvestite, transexual from Transylvania!!!" The show did not let up its energy till it was over. Frankly, it was one of the best nights I'd had at a theater since Marilyn and Bob and I had gone to see "Things that Go Bump in the Night"! (Only 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 was a musical!) When it was over we went back to congratulate Tim, who wanted us to come and meet the author, Richard O'Brian, who had (of course) played Rifraff: In the crowded dressing room, we said hello and told him how much we'd enjoyed it. And I got one of the nicest surprises of 𝘮𝘺 life. "You're Chip Delany--and Tim says you write science fiction. You don't have any connection to 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘦𝘭 Delany, do you?" "Yes," I said. "Actually that's my real name." "Well!" said O'Brien. "I should tell you that I'm one of 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 biggest fans." It was, as they say, a night to remember. Marilyn and I went home delighted that the play had been such a success. We were still living below Tim when, that summer, it was being filmed out in Elstree, and I remember meeting Tim on the way home from the underground station in Baker Street. His hair was still wet and stringy and he explained they'd been shooting a scene a swimming pool (which had, of course, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 been in the play) but O'Brian and Adler had agreed, since it was there, they might as well use it. I remember that was an evening of a balmy spring day in West-One . . ." -Samuel (Chip) Delany-

Hello all,
I would appreciate it if you would check out my new YouTube Channel.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC89B6JVOuQxNaRMBshEHbrg
I am working on making analytical video essays on a wide variety of films. I have already completed a series on "Triumph of the Will" (1935). https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgrhnLLK3kmE0d7JfTCoyYNa18Pc0-6uM
I am currently working on an analysis of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) that will argue that the film is a perfect model for education.
I do welcome and look forward to your feedback and hope to see you around the channel in the future! I would also appreciate it if you would subscribe.

I am currently working on an analysis of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) that will argue that the film is a perfect model for education.
I do welcome and look forward to your feedback and hope to see you around the channel in the future! I would also appreciate it if you would subscribe.

2020.09.20 20:10 BlueGrassOfHome 22 [M4F] New York/Anywhere - Let's See if We Can Connect

Hey everyone, I'll jump right into things. Lately I have been craving real connections and I can't think of a better way to wait out the world than with real friendship or more! Maybe ... an emphasis on a little more, but friendship is fine too, met some cool people on the Internet/Reddit thus far and I never dismiss these friends as "illegitimate", friends are friends, if you connect you connect.
Originally I was looking for connections for romance, or at least something in between friendship and that. But really, I'm down for whatever one may want at this point. Of course, it doesn't have to be anything serious unless we truly get along, but being flirtatious and open can sometimes lead to that.
A little about me, I am currently in my final semester of undergrad. And I'll be graduating with an English Bachelor's. I'm an avid writer and reader, though the reading's been scarce nowadays (and not to mention the editing ... oh god the editing) as I am still a member of this television and YouTube generation and can't really stop entertaining myself with that stuff.
I love me some video games (though I wonder if that's just me procrastinating, got any procrastination tips? HELP), typically playing Indie stuff and the larger single player AAA titles. Also have gotten into plenty of RPGs and JRPGs. Strategy games I am also big into, even if I suck at them. Crusader Kings III has been a great time.
As well as books, I do read comics. Mostly manga, though I am interested in the American comic canon and Indie works. Indie works/visual novels primarily I'd say. I think DC and Marvel need to work on a different model for their comics rather than the confusion that is getting into them this late in the game.
When it comes to my movie interests, I'm a huge fan of animation and a very amateur artist. I don't plan on pursuing art unless one day I'm secure and have the time for practice, but I have been putting all my personal practice stock into my writing. I'm a fan of a wide variety of series. I love highly stylized films, so ... Wes Anderson, and when it comes to animation Coraline and The Song of the Sea are some of my all time favorites. Animation in general though can sometimes blow my mind and inspire me. So Pixar also gets a mention for looking so damn good.
I'd say one more huge interest of mine worth mentioning is my love of history and mythology. They often go hand in hand, and I'm particularly fond of ancient history. Folklore and myth deeply intrigue me. Been watching a lot of Ted-Ed and various video essay and history channels on Youtube, would love some recommendations!
After some existential crises I've come out of it a pretty logical person I'd say. It's been a point in my life lately to explore spiritual avenues to see if there's some kinda' spark, so definitely interested in this sort of discussion as well! Philosophy and theology can be fun to chat about. Been learning tarot recently, and at one point even got into astrology, but these things really clash with who I am and I don't know where I stand with them.
That's about it for now. I have plenty to talk about I guess! I don't care where you're from. Whether you want friendship or moreship, I'd be interested either way, so let's get to chatting and see if we click!
And feel free to message any time you see this!

2020.09.19 16:27 Night-Monkey15 Disney doesn’t know who to write a female character.

I said it, they don’t!
Captain Marvel She has no personality, little character development, and that’s it.
She hates the Kree (Alien species) and like Earth. That’s it, I can’t tell you anything about her, but male characters, well Spider-Man likes LEGO, Star Wars and other 70-80s science-fiction movies. Iron Man suffered from PTSD because of Avengers (2012). Cap went on all long character arc from trusting the US government to hating it.
Mulan (2020) She sucks, in the original she trained for years to become one of, if not the best warrior in china. This one has a lot of chi that gives her Jedi powers. I’m not joking.
The message of the first film was that with enough training, you can become something amazing, the message of this is that you might have more chi then others.
Rey (Star Wars) Well she hates the sith, and is a Jedi, that it. Oh she’s also someone granddaughter, and because she is his granddaughter she has the same problem as modern Mulan.
In conclusion, Disney doesn’t know how to write woman.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

2020.09.19 13:05 Professor-of-Moe A semantic criticism of Food Theory

So the more I think about this, the more it kinda bugs me, and it has to do with the "theory" branding on most of the content on Food Theory. Basically, a majority of the topics and answers given for the videos on Food Theory just literally aren't theories. Things like "can you make instant cake without an egg/why are we told to add eggs" or "the most optimal order of fries" or "what food is safe during a nuclear fallout" all have flat, objective answers that just straight up aren't theoretical because there are straightforward, scientific answer to them.
I can let it slide on things like the Koolaid Man episode or the Gordon Ramsay one because there's actual speculation and interpretation involved to where you can only really call the conclusions theories. And with the Game and Film Theory channels, those are analyzing art forms that often have some form of gaps that leave things open to interpretation and where the answers to posited questions can only be deemed "theoretically" possible at best. With Food Theory, most of the time it ends up just being a case of "Why/what is x. The answer is y because established and observable scientific/sociological studies and documentation clearly say so" and that's kind of it.
The thing is, Game Theory does have a sort of sub-series called "The Science of: ___" that moreso just discusses science and how we understand it and how it could apply to certain situations in video games that feels more along the lines of what most Food Theory episodes end up being. Just an explanation on how something in science works and how it applies to the subject matter. Most Food Theory episodes feel more like a mini-documentary rather than an intriguing theoretical deepdive that the branding suggests. I just think that give or take 80% of the videos on Food Theory so far would feel more accurately branded if approached and discussed as a "The Science of: __" type of video.
Also just want to point out that if you're trying to discredit the claims that a major corporation (Chuck E. Cheese) is violating health codes, then you might not want to end the episode on "but that's just a theory". I get that it's his catchphrase and all, but for the reasons I mentioned above as well as the fact that it doesn't look good with what he was trying to accomplish, it just seems like a bad idea.
That's my TED talk. If anyone disagrees or has a counter to anything I've said, I'd be happy to hear it to clear up any misunderstandings I may have.

2020.09.19 07:05 CatTownFilms I'm Thinking of Ending Things and the Lateralization of Human Brain Function

Probable Spoilers Ahead for Charlie Kaufman's new Netflix movie i'm thinking of ending things:

My theory posits Jake and the girlfriend are visual representations of the left and right hemispheres of the brain personified. While it's greatly oversimplified and often considered Pop Psychology, there is some truth to which sides of the brain are responsible for what function. ie Logic, emotion, creativity, motor skills, etc. In the first car sequence, I started noticing the position of the camera and how very rarely both characters were on screen together. I started theorizing Lucy, (we'll call her for the sake of typing-laziness) framed in the passenger seat, is our right-hemisphere stand in and Jake is the left. Got it? Now take a look at these commonly believed laterlized brain functions:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralization_of_brain_function#/media/File:Brain_Lateralization.svg
As the movie progressed and we got to know the characters, and knowing Jake is the left and Lucy is the right, don't those look like their respective character traits?

Jake (Left Brain):
-Analytical thought - Very observant and educated, interested in Lucy's research paper and also knowledgeable about it. Wants to discuss the meaning of poetry. Points out the problematic use of the word "sissy". Comes up with possibly the only plausible reason a new swing-set would be in front of an abandoned house.
-Detail Oriented Perception - He seems to have perfect recall of events and places of the past, while other characters forget simple words or change stories and events.
-Ordered Sequencing - When we're with Jake most is when he is driving a car, and what's more ordered than that? you're going from Point A to Point B. He also seems to list off musicals pretty quickly.
-Rational Thought - "Chains." He explains the lambs are frozen and "what are you gonna do?"
-Verbal - Jake gets uncomfortable when Lucy retreats into her head. He always tries to initiate conversations, going so far as to insist she perform a poetry slam right there in the passenger seat.
-Cautious - He doesn't want Lucy to go in the basement.

Lucy (Right Brain)
-Intuitive Thought - She is sensing the end of things, literally. When they drive by the billboard, a voice (which we know at the end is the animated pig) says "Come... Join me." She also breaks the 4th wall a lot, as if the character is intuitive enough to know she's a fictional construct.
-Holistic Perception: Holistic perception is the fusion of the whole with its constituent parts and with everything which pertains to it. Kind of like a girlfriend meeting her boyfriend's parents at various points of their entire lives simultaneously. Also, "The boy is the father of the man."
-Random Sequencing - When we are alone with Lucy, scenes become more disjointed. Lucy isn't even her name. She's writing a paper on Rabies to get her Astro Psychics degree. Or she's a waitress...Sometimes a completely different actress.
-Emotional Thought - Every inner monologue she has is emotional thought! Every word is laced at it's barest with ennui.
-Non-Verbal - Aside from the fact that she is having an internal monologue, the biggest evidence here is toward the end of the film, as Jake disappears and is eventually killed during the dance sequence. There is no more spoken dialog in the entire film, aside from two recitations of artistic works that evoke emotional thought. More Right Brain traits. We experience the death of the left brain from the point of view of the right brain.
-Creative Writing / Art - Lucy is shown to be a gifted poet, albeit the poem she recited was not her own. She is also presented as an accomplished painter. The movie strongly hints at movies and other entertainment we consume to be shaping the narrative threads we weave throughout our own lives. Leading us to...
-Imagination - An imagined relationship, an imagined girlfriend, an imagined history, which is what the trip to the parents house ends up being entirely. It's why Lucy remains the perspective character throughout that portion of the film. These are memories, but they are also tainted by virus of ideas... The movies, books, and morality tales that guide us and mythologize us in our own minds.
I have not read the book this is based on, but I've seen enough reviews and synopses to understand Jake is revealed to be real and Lucy is imagined, but I think in this film Lucy is technically just as real as young Jake, in that they are personifications of both hemispheres of the janitor's brain.
I could go on about Jungian anima, or like how the left brain is thought to control motor functions and is associated with masculinity, and how Jake is literally controlling the motor functions of the car on the left side of the car. A lot of people say they dislike the car scenes, but that's is exactly where a left/right brain differential would be highlighted if you think about it. The left brain needs to drive the vehicle, and the right brain is free to do some heavy contemplating. The logic-bound, ordered sequenced male left brain operates the motor controls, while the imaginative, intuitive, creative female right brain prefers to contemplate the scenery and the emotionalism of being or not, The Movie.

I'll also point you to the film itself for evidence. at one point during the first car conversation, Jake says:

"That's what I like about road trips. They give you a chance to see things from outside your own head."
The camera cuts to Lucy as she points to the right side of her head and says. "Perspective."
Cut back to Jake, who is pointing at the left side of his head, and repeats, "Perspective."
Two perspectives, the bilateral mind.

There's even some subtle bilateral imagery in the font style of the title of the movie:
That italicized "of" splits the title in two... mentally preparing us for some eventual dip into duality from the very beginning of i'm thinking of ending things

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk! XD

2020.09.18 18:32 vancethegod Letters from an addict

Day 1.

I have seen, done, and had done to me so many bad things. so much in fact that it
has, unfourtunately led me down a path of bad decision making. I've been beaten, sexually
abused, told im worthless, felt worthless, acted worthless. Eventually living this way
starts to make you feel as if it will never get better. A sarcastic writer spiraling
downward head first the rock bottom. i like to think i havent made it that far, but im
standing at the edge of the cliff. My mind screams at me to jump. This isnt poetry this
time, it is processing. Johann Hari's writing have given me at least an idea where to
start but i never truly wanted to. The comforting burn and warmth i get from my crutch
has never been an option in my mind. Give me stimulus or give me death. It runs in the
family unfortunately, these all seem like excuses but you really have to look inside
and see why it hurts so bad you can't manage to be fully present in your life. My parents
play a big role. This may just be shifting blame, but i truly believe we are a product
of our raising and mine was pretty fucking bad. parents who fought and cheated on
eachother. They were always so strung out or absent that my sister and grandmother
had to do most of the work. If it wasnt the other branches of our family that we were
with while my father was in prison and my mom was so far down the rabbit hole that she
just left us on a doorstep. My brother and sister went to one family, and i went to
another. These houses were not homes, and never truly safe. I cant speak on what
happened to my brother and sister during that time. My time in this new setting lasted
about two and a half years. i was sometimes starved, sometimes forced to eat regularly.
My caretakers would let their son hit me whenever he wanted to but if i fought back i was
grounded. being grounded was being locked in a room alone for the duration of it.
two options, stare at the wall, or copy The Great Gatsby word for word. I may eat, i
may not.just me a bed and the light from a window. They would physically hold me on the couch and
force me to watch horror movies, and then try to scare me with masks while i slept.
they took all of my possesions other than clothes and gave them to their son.
If i got sick or was injured they wouldnt take me to a doctor. theyd patch me up and
put me back in my room. things didnt necessarily get any better after my dad got out
of prison. I remember him forcing himself on me, though there is no proof that this isnt
some kind of trauma induced nightmare that turned into a memory in my fragile young mind.
I think it lasted for years. When my uncle passed away its like he gave up and just
got more and more strung out. im surprised he is still alive. Hell, im surprised IM
still alive. My uncle dying broke us all, he was an alcoholic just like me. He
was the greatest man i ever knew and i guess ive always wanted to be so much like him
that that had to come with it. My mother didnt come around too much. Just enough to make
it never get easier. shed show up and promise us she was back for good. She would beg us
to spen time with her, and then one day just forget about us again. I even tell my
siblings its okay, or that im just mad, or that i made it out fine. The truth is...
I havent been able to even tell myself this truth until right now. It fucking hurts
me everyday. It is one of the biggest reasons why i feel so useless. I lie to people all
of the time because i just wanna be good enough for them. im a mess, i put myself down,
i intentionally make self destructive decisions, because i feel as if this is what
i was destined to be. Some people were just born to turn into nothing. If it had to be
one of us it would be me. it was always gonna be me. Katie and Chris are so good, its
like living in the shadow of who you couldve been. Its like rolling that stupid fucking
ball up the hill over and over again. its like knowing no matter what you WILL fold again
so why try to sort it out at all. so thats day 1. this is gonna be a long journey.
Its gonna be a bigger fight than ive ever had to put up, and ive been fighting my whole
life. Something has to happen to push you over that edge before you make a change.
i just hope that i dont push anyone else away. i cant lose them, id effectively lose
myself if thats the case. 1 day at a time. My name is Austin and i am an alcoholic.

Day 1.5

Im back a little early. today has been a quiet day in my home, but incredibly loud in
my mind. Im shaking and vomiting. the unsurmountable guilt of my actions over the course
of this past couple of years sounds like a 16 austin symphony just screaming to run back.
People tend to look for different things in drugs and alcohol. Johann Hari in his book
chasing the scream, (or his ted talk that is shorter) calls addiction bonding.
he talks about how all people have the inherent need to bond. Not just bonding to humans,
The need to create bonds with even actions, hobbies, and foods... or in mine and a lot of
others drugs and alcohol. This feels so significant to me because i can see the bonds
ive broken or never had. i can see where when the flame of one bond got stamped out that
it was replaced by a stronger bond with my unhealthy coping mechanism. I dont know why im
deciding to put this all up for people on reddit, but i think maybe it could help? Maybe
even help you? Ive always been very suicidal and when my friends and family would ask me
why i drink so much i would chuckle and say, "Well im gonna take the hardest route to the
easy way out." "I never had the balls to shoot myself anyway." they all knew it wasnt a
joke, but just cracked an uncomfortable smile, or hit me in the arm... The thing is that
i still dont want to live. I just dont wanna die badly enough to take my own life. some
days i do, but i havent yet. so i say all of this to come back around to bonding. When
dealing with addicts its important to not demonize people, but rather try to find out
what it is that makes day to day life this unbearable. FInd reasons to not give up.
Hari also mentions the rat park expirement as well. It all supports this undeniable
truth that every addict is missing something important to them. The bonds that make it
worth it. i hope to find mine. Do you know what yours are? I used to practically live
outdoors, hiking swimming, rock climbing, playing sports with friends... I write music,
and poetry, and play video games. I love to cook, and fish, so I have interests, but
they just dont interest me anymore. as i fell further down the rabbit hole of my
addiction and depression, i have become anxious and home bodied. Too paranoid to go
to the gas station for cigarettes some days. It doesnt help that 2020 has been so bad
but im gonna cover that tomorrow. thanks for reading. im glad i can put this stuff out
there.

Days 2 & 3

I started a new job today.
I am just a line cook again, not a manager, not a chef, not an unemployed waste of space.
i had to hide the witdrawls from my new co workers and found that i actually know a few
people there from highschool. it was the easiest first day ive ever had.
Just working fryers. Its an odd feeling to step all the way back down the ladder.
Its even weirder to do it by choice.
Well i guess the whole point of this weird open letter things is to analyze the choices.
Im not good at making rational decisions outside of a kitchen. theres something about
the chaos of it. its really stressful at times and forces me to be around a lot more
people who are like me but arent ready to get better, BUT when i have the muscle memory
and im on a line with all of those tickets pouring in dancing my way around hot pans
and people moving quickly, on slippery floors. The noises, the communication. The 16
austin symphony shuts up. its chaos manifesting peace. it scares me though because its
the reason i ended up this way apart from my own actions, and some other things we have
or will discuss. Between the ages of 16 and 20 i never drank. I hated alcohol to be
more precise. i wouldnt have a beer with anyone or a shot for any reason. Hell,
I didnt even want to go to the bar for my 21st because i dont like drinking.
My brother and sister insisted i had one drink at their favorite bar. It turned out to be
my favorite too. Im sure had they known where id be at now they wouldnt have persisted and
if i did i wouldnt have been so complicit. for a while it was just a bottle of tequila
every couple or few weeks and my fiance would help me here and there with it. eventually
it became a couple beers after work and then tequila at home. fast forward a year and
im in a new job, and one day im hungover and the general manager offers me a beer. i
laughed and said "i would never drink at work!" She then poured me a beer anyway it was
a sour too. My favorite! So i drank it. i said just this one. but then again im pretty
bad at that. so fastforward again. at the time of my leavingi was having shots before
work at my bedside, in the car on the way there, beers at work, hitting the bar after,
drinking until i enevitably pass out in bed by my fiance, who at this point was tired
of not really ever seeing me. We break up. 4 years almost... gone. This moment was a
bad turning point for me. i immediately started sleeping with every person that wanted me
i was just lucky enough that that was everyone that i wanted. the bottles got bigger and
dried up faster. i had started a third shift job on salary that only required 5 hours a
day and i was making around 25 an hour depending. so i had 5 hours of work and
3-4 hours of sleep. living alone, single, partying constantly, sleeping with anyone i
could. an empty hollow existence. a dopamine factory running on high alert almost
every second of every day. Anyone who has lived like this for a long enough amount of
time knows that it is a hollow meaningless existence. no real affection to be had, no
sense of real accomplishment. you lose friends, and dissapoint your family, and all the
while slowly damaging your body, sometimes permanently. this led pretty quickly to a
very deep depression. i already struggle with almost crippling social axiety, manic
depression, and bi polar disorder, but it got BAD. i started to cry when my hookups left
i missed my ex, i hated my job, i felt completely invalid and useless as i started to
realize that none of the people in my life wanted anything to do with ME it was just
an ends to a mean. i ended up meeting a girl, and even she wanted an open relationship.
That wasnt a bad idea because of the way i wanted to sleep around, but she also was living
the same hollow existence i was. drugs, alcohol, parties, promiscuity, BPD, anxiety, and
manic depression. we worked at the same place as well. im sure you could assume pretty
quickly that this was a very toxic relationship. i had no idea what i had gotten myself
into. Shortly into this relationship we had started drinking together before during and
after work. we started fighting because of our open status, but refused to change it.
And eventually.... she started hitting me during our arguments, during sex, at work....
I NEVER hit her once. I dont have it in me. i continued this for a few months before
i decided it was over. this is also the story of the first time i got sober. I gave
her all of her belongings back, took my ass beating and she left. i kept drinking.
I started seeing my ex again. I kept drinking. we got back together and one day i
woke up and just didnt want it. i felt as if i had found some meaning in life past
the bottle and my life began getting better. I know this whole thing is a bit
jarring if youre actually reading it but im just talking out what got me to the
shitty place im in. i was sober for 16 weeks. the longest ive been since i turned 21.
its funny how no matter how good youre doing life can get really bad really fast.
I had a friend named cooper. he was a great guy, and we didnt see eachother regularly,
but i loved the guy. we had plans to hang out one weekend around our work schedules.
it wasnt like him to call and make weekend plans because we both work in the industry,
but i always try to take the opportunity to see friends. we made those plans on
wednesday the week before. ive never made plans that far away from the day. on the sunday
after we made the plans i was at my job and we were VERY busy. he called me, and i didnt
answer because to be honest i didnt even hear it ring. a couple hours later i go outside
to smoke and his mom calls me. I still havent checked my phone. i answer the phone to her
frantically crying and asking me why i didnt answer. i told her to calm down and tell
me what happened. Turns out cooper shot himself with a 357 magnun in the head a few
minutes after hanging up. before he did though... he left me a voicemail. it was an
excerpt from a poem i wrote titled "Babylon" it goes as follows.

I radiate daily with rays of wayne gacy
colder than 72 december rains baby
take the reigns on this life you choose to live
before the noose slips in
and you have noone else to send
to heaven and hell to leave them a message
i wont be returning if i just take my medicine.
thats what they say on the cold damp sick bay
on the bottom floor of the uss dismay
dismal destiny dissasembled my wreckoning
and left my bretheren to fight alone
its unsettling im peddling
im trembling and fighting this fight as hard as i can
where will i be if i just give in
lying through my locks i see a family of broken hearts
here too cheer me through this fight thats been forced upon
my lungs and head
i just pretend my strength is up and i must win
but in the end its all an act
im growing weak and thats a fact.
dont be sad when i am gone.
all aboard to babylon

My hands are weak
my joints are thin
the pleasures of life are closing in
if not past 30 were bettermen
but its time we found some better friends
to guide us through this dark abyss
of caves and crawl spaces weve nestled in.
if i could make a wish it would be to never have to think again
never have to speak or fend for myself
and hide behind a trim
just so i can say i fit in with these fucking puppets
who are watching nothing spin?

After he said this he said "I really wish you wouldve answered the phone man.
and then..... BOOM. It broke me. i had to leave work and ended up so goddamn drunk that
i couldnt go in the next day. 50 PBRs because it was his favorite, and all the tequila
my liver and stomach would let me handle till i passed out. i was a mess for a long time,
but i didnt stop drinking for even longer. over the course of the next 6 months 4 more
of my friends died. suicides, overdoses, carwrecks... were out here dropping like flies
this much grief coupled with a very stressful environment like a detrimentally
understaffed kitchen, and a failing relationship because i couldnt get my shit
together and stop bringing home a half gallon of montezuma everyday. i got worse again.

I really hope that someone is reading these as i post and maybe it helps them, or they
can feel better about themselves, or they just wanna read it. i hope you all are doing
well. thank you.

Day 4

Being sober isnt fun. It doesnt feel any better. i cant even do the things that make me
happy anymore. i know its only day 4 but 4 days ago i could play video games and enjoy
myself but today im staring at the wall while my skin is crawling towards the earth.
i really want to die so i dont have to continue to fight. i only have a few reasons to
stay and they keep me here, but if one card falls out of the deck then where will i go?
even now as the shakes subside and i stop feeling so nauseus i know i only have 1 or
two more days of the withdrawls i cant help but think that it hasnt made me stronger in
any way. i am the same cold broken human that went to jail last week and came out with
enough determination to pour out my alcohol. it wasnt me that really made that decison.
of course no one ever gets sober because someone tells them to. you have to want it, and
truth be told i may be the first person to ever get sober against their own will but it
wasnt forced upon them. i am not in rehab. i am not in jail. there will be no court order
to tell me i cant drink anymore. if everything goes well i may not even have to go back
in the cage they put me in after my court date. i may walk away scott free. im going to be
35 days sober when i walk into court. this life is too much work too much strain it takes
a level of streght i may never have. its like you fight and fight for 99 percent of the
time just so you can try to thrive off of the miniscule things that make you smile.
im tired. im tired of waking up, im tired of getting out of bed, im tired of not being
ablt to function even slightly. id rather have a lobotomy, because at that point i wouldnt
care. i dont want to feel anymore. Alcohol is the only thing that has ever made my life
seem worth living that doesnt have a heartbeat. maybe ill make it

I recalled something about the people we talked about in my first letter. i never once
considered spanking to be abuse, and i understand that there can be spanking without abuse
when i lived with my cousins who i had been brainwashed into thinking were my aunt and
uncle. they would spank me alot on top of the other horrible things that ive already
mentioned. it wasnt like a simple hand on the ass or a belt. sometimes it was but they
would hold the belt by the buckle and not fold it, essentially using it like a whip
while i was standing. they would have me "pick a switch" (for those of you who didnt grow
up in the south that means to go pick a tree limb or something similar) it had to be a
perfect switch or you would be i so much more trouble. eventually as children you try to
find some way out of recieving that much pain. there were several times that they werent
happy with my choice, and they would do one of a few things to demonstarte their anger
one time they took one of their daughters studded belts to me in the middle of the kitchen
while they laughed and filmed and told me to dance. another time they locked me in a closet
for the remainder of the day and night. the worst and most humiliating of all was the time
my "aunt" went to a rose bush and picked a very long wide limb. she clipped off JUST the
tips of the spikes, and proceded to run me in circles around the kitchen telling me to
dance. they loved filming these things. as if they were home videos that one day we
would all laugh about. well i dont need a video, i know what they did. i can see it
very clearly. they would only film times when i was crying because i couldnt understand
why they were doing what they were doing. In fact we used to have sunday dinners at their
mothers house, and i was never allowed to consent to what was put on my plate. there was
one week where they put too much on my plate, and i wasnt allowed to leave the table
until it was all gone. i managed to put down everything except the collard greens.
i have never liked collards, and i was so full i thought i would throw up. i asked
to be excused and they told me not until i finished. i remember i begged and begged.
i wasnt allowed to use the restroom, they took my drink away, and after hours of this
torture i was crying and kicking, and 6 adults laughed and tooka a video of it.
just a touch more trauma to add to the mix.

the last time i got sober was very brief and truth be told i relapsed so hard that i
cant even remember how long it was. only a few weeks. i was changing jobs, i had
recently been given the news that even if i make these changes like being sober, eating
healthy, reducing my stress... that unfortunately i only stand to live another 5 years,
and even in those years the quality of my life will go downhill. i tried to be sober, and
then one day like a pile of brick it hit me. whats the point in living the last few years
of your life fighting to not do the thing that makes you so happy? why fight for something
that may or may not ever benefit you anyway. this is the kind of thinking live with.
i may never have kids, and if i do it is very likely i wont live to see the graduate
middle school let alone highschool, or walking them down the aisle, or any of that
shit that everyone fantasizes about when thinking of starting a family. Pursuing a
relationship at all would be selfish knowing that im gonna die soon. my attitude shifted
around to "Fuck it!"

2020 has been an absolute nightmare. my fiance who id been with for five years left.
my brother moved out. a global pandemic took my job and locked me in the apartment i lived
with my brother and fiance in for 76 fucking days. no human contact for 76 fucking days.
just me, a gallon a day, and doordash. it was a completely lifechanging experience in no
good way. i would routinely wake up in my floor. sometimes with a bottle poured out on the
floor beside me, sometimes in a puddle of my own blood and vomit. sometimes id wake up in
my car with no keys to be found. i was crying and screaming so much that my neighbors
tried to check on me regulary despite the pandemic. i tried to kill myself 3 times.
that makes my life total around 12. turns out im really bad at it. ive been almost
homeless 3 times, one of my best friends who just happened to be the same age as me, and
have the same name died of a heart attack in his work parking lot. i had a psychotic break
i started hallucinating that he and cooper were following me around. we had conversations
they cracked jokes, and scared me around corners. they wouldnt leave. this went on for
months... im an insane person drinking his life away with psychological issues that
would probably see me committed to a hospital. maybe ill write more later. my ears are
starting to ring.
